The Correlation Coefficient of Donating Books to the Red Cross I have received a lot of donations in the past year, but one item in particular has given me quite a problem. A few weeks ago, my donation drop box near me was broken. I had to call all of my neighbors and many of them were unable to pick up the items. Some gave me a ride to go to the donation drop off, and a few others donated the items directly to the Salvation Army. I was extremely upset that some people didn't help when they were able to. So, I started researching online about donation bins, how they work, what the regulations are, and what other people have said in my Fort Worth area. Here is what I found: Donation bins are fantastic. They keep unwanted junk out of landfills, give Second Chance attendees access to donations they would not otherwise be able to receive, and help charities. All of these things are true, and many times the donation bins themselves will fill with items that people just don't want. Here is what you should do if you find a broken donation bin in your neighborhood: If the donation box near you is broken, don't throw it away yet! It's important to call the store that uses the bin and ask if they still use the book donation bins. If they do, they probably still have the books in stock and most likely they will take some of them. Most book donation bins come with labels so you can sort the books by the author and title. The next thing you need to do is go to your local Salvation Army donation center. There is a list of distribution locations online. You need to go to the one listed on the website and you need to call them and tell them that you would like to donate the items you no longer need to have. agency have someone who will be willing to come out to the location and pick up the items for you. It's imperative that you have identification for any items you donate because you will need to prove that it is from a public donation. Donating your old books to the Salvation Army is really easy. Just make sure that your donation is a completely empty book bag. Your tax id number, your social security number, and your mailing address should be available with your tax paperwork. There are plenty of other places you can go for donations too. I would suggest that you look at donating old clothes to Goodwill or craigslist. You might also consider donating household appliances. Many people find that donating the appliances to Goodwill is the best way to go because they get a good percentage. It takes a great deal of talent to work in an organization like the United Way. Yet some of us are so hopelessly poor that we give our money to the United Way and never get a cent back. Well there is a correlation coefficient that explains why the poor often give more to charity than the rich. Those who are poor are more likely to give than those who are rich. Therefore it makes sense that if you want to be in with the highest correlation coefficient then you must be willing to give. One last point about book donation bins. If you are a person who likes to collect things, you should think about collecting things to donate to charity. There are lots of great organizations out there to help those in need. You can find donation drop boxes in public areas such as schools, churches, and community centers. Once you start donating to charities, you will be amazed at all the difference it makes in the world.
